But darker dyes also have the additional benefit of reducing uv light penetration into the water, which can help to prevent algal blooms and aquatic weed outbreaks.

What's the best way of applying dam dyes?

We've made it so that applying dyes to your dam or pond couldn't be easier. All of our dyes come in solupacks which will dissolve in the water, so all you need to do is throw them into your water system and watch them get to work. The dye will disperse naturally over time, but you can speed the process up if they enter the water close to an aeration system.

What is the recommended dosage for dam dyes?

This will depend on the size of your water system. As a general rule, we suggest that a single solupack can treat up to 1,000,000 litres of water. If you have a smaller aquatic ecosystem, you can cut off the corner of a solupack and drip the dye into water to a level that you see fit.
